Our acquisition criteria
We seek to invest in or acquire software companies that have acquired or developed intellectual property (IP) related to a business-to-business (B2B) vertical market. We're particularly interested in companies that offer their software along with professional services for implementation, training, and ongoing support, whether delivered via SaaS or on-premise models. Our focus on these types of companies allows us to bring unique value to our portfolio and support businesses in achieving their growth objectives.
Our acquisition model
We believe in working with software companies to find mutually agreeable terms that support their growth objectives. This may involve an outright acquisition or a minority stake that allows vendors to release capital while remaining closely involved with the business. We value the expertise of our investee companies and work to combine it with our own to promote growth and take businesses to the next level. Additionally, we offer our own expertise and resources to support our investee companies. There may be an option for us to buy or for the vendor to sell remaining equity at a future point, which can be attractive for vendors approaching retirement.
Size and user base
We believe that businesses of any size can benefit from our investment and acquisition services. However, to maximize the benefits of a relationship with us, we look for software companies with a stable turnover of £0.5m or more and a diverse client base. We believe this ensures a strong foundation for growth and minimizes risk by reducing dependence on a small number of clients. We're committed to working with our investee companies to achieve their growth objectives and have a track record of success with businesses that meet these criteria.
